  • Technology is integrated into every phase of the teaching and learning process. The state-of-the-art building offers a Mac lab, 10 Intelligent Classrooms, Polycom video conferencing and a staff who work to integrate technology into their day to day classroom procedures."
  • Students have the ability to participate in career pathways including CNA, respiratory therapy, culinary arts, cosmetology, construction trades, Advanced Microsoft Help Desk certification, Project Lead the Way -Biomedical Engineering, and Radio/TV Production.
  • Small size allows all staff to know the entire student body and build a net for students, preventing them from getting off track. Teachers, administrators and support staff work closely together to share important information about students to better personalize their experience in high school.
  • One of three SLPS high schools to send a team to the Global Hack VI, an international computer coding competition with $1 million dollars in prize money.
  • Teachers develop lessons that connect to students' strengths, taking an assets-based approach to lesson design. We also use a restorative discipline approach across our school.
  • Extracurriculars: Athletics, FRC and FIRST Robotics, Coding Club, Media Team, Chess, Tutoring, Pep Squad, Dance Team, Drum Line, Student Council, Speech and Debate, Performing Arts Club
  • Special Education: We have a host of resources to support students with IEPs. In addition to self-contained or class within a class support, we also offer speech/language services, occupational therapy, and vocational training for students who qualify.   • Parent Involvement: "Parents serve as teacher aides, chaperones for field trips, and who serve to support our athletic program with dinner before games. We are open and flexible to any opportunities parents bring to us as ideas. We have a full time employee who specifically focuses on parent and community engagement. He supports students by building a bridge to the home, working in tandem with our social worker to complete home visits or schedule parent meetings as students need."
