  • Cleveland Junior Naval Academy is accredited with distinction by the state of Missouri. We are a military school with a strong emphasis on leadership development and academic achievement. Students have opportunity to practice leadership though the structure embedded in the NJROTC program. We also focus on civic engagement, community service and social justice.

  • Cleveland was selected as one of the 3 high schools in the country to receive the National Distinguished Title 1 School Award. We were named by Newsweek as one of the top performing high schools in the country and awarded a gold star. We were selected as a national instructional model for AVID. We received a bronze star from US News and World Report. We are accredited with distinction by the state.
  • Cleveland placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in state track and field competitions over the past 3 years. Cleveland is the first SLPS school to win a state championship in track in more than 2 decades. Cleveland has taken wrestling teams to state for the past 3 years. Cleveland won the Sportsmanship Award for wrestling which is awarded by state officials. It is the first time a ST. Louis Public School has won the award.
  • Cleveland sent a cross country team to state in 2015. It was the first SLPS team to attend state in 55 years.
  • Extracurriculars: Football, Basketball. Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Track and Field, Cross-Country, Wrestling, Cheerleading, Drill Teams, Debate
  • Special Education: Limited services for learning disabilities: no self-contained classrooms, no modified curriculum, no resource classes.
  • Parent Involvement: Parents have the opportunity to work concession stands for sporting events. We have parent nights for sports and FAFSA workshops. We have parent conferences twice a year and parents are often invited to meet with teams of teachers to discuss their children. We have a parent community specialist who plans and implements parent activities.
