  • 'Innovative Electives' is an important, weekly instructional component at Rohan Woods School. Students have an opportunity to experience developmentally appropriate electives one hour per week that promote learning through play and experimentation. The topics are interdisciplinary with elements of art, science, and craftsmanship. All topics encourage the use of tools and materials to motivate students to create rather than consume.

  • Through project based learning, inquiry based instruction and hands-on engagement, students are exposed to numerous teaching methodologies tailored to small class sizes and individual success. Student learn the true meaning of personal responsibility by sequentially developing the understanding of how to take charge of their learning and ultimately their individual success.
  • Physical Education (or “Coach” as it is known to our students) is scheduled every day, for all PK through Sixth Grade students. The goal of the Physical Education Program is simple: to be instructional while building enthusiasm for athletics and fitness.
  • Our faculty and staff not only know every child’s name – they know each child’s story. They know each student’s strengths and learning styles and are able to design lessons tailored to meet the personal academic needs of our students.

  • Gifted Education: Because we have an 8:1 student teacher ratio, all our students have one-to-one time with our faculty throughout the day. This gives the teachers time to focus on gifted areas and support challenging areas, too.
