  • The classrooms are amazingParent 12/09/2017
I love the dedication of the teachers, and my kids know it and love going to school! Each classroom teacher we've had has been a native speaker who chose to come here to St. Louis (!) to share their language and culture. My children learn not only words, but how to think from a global perspective. The... More

We chose The Chinese School at SLLIS because we want our child to be not only conversationally proficient in a foreign language but culturally competent. Our daughter at 8 years old speaks, reads, and writes in two languages and is developing strong critical thinking skills. We value the diversity of... More
  • Superb!Parent 09/09/2015
The Chinese School is amazing. The teachers are outstanding and the kids pick up the language at an amazing rate. Our kids are very happy and clearly learning at a normal elementary school pace but in Mandarin. It's a great school!
  • See for Yourself!Parent 11/14/2014
We chose the Chinese School over the gifted schools because we were so impressed by the curriculum and what our children will learn. It has so much to offer and we are very happy we made this choice!
  • Language is only part of the story..Parent 11/14/2014
Learning a second language is so easy for these young kids and this is the right time to do it. They are soaking it up every day and learning in CHINESE not learning Chinese per se. They learn everything their peers learn and are becoming bilingual and biliterate at the same time. What an advantage... More
  • Incredible!Parent 11/13/2014
We chose to enroll our 2 boys into the St. Louis Language Immersion School -- The Chinese School, during the inaugural year (2012) for a few reasons... The fact our boys will be bilingual and bi-literate in Mandarin is incredible, but there was an even greater appeal, initially, in the holistic approach... More

Most immersion schools are private schools with high price tags. This is an INCREDIBLE opportunity for the families of St. Louis. My daughter is now in her 2nd year (1st grade) and she loves it. She's happy when I drop her off and happy when I pick her up. The teachers are so dedicated to teaching the... More
  • Opportunity not to be Missed in St. LouisParent 11/13/2014
We are absolutely thrilled with the school. It has come a long way in two years and our oldest, now in second grade, is speaking Mandarin all day! Our youngest is now in Kindergarten and loves being able to tell us what he learned each day. The teachers are outstanding and the curriculum is based ... More

We now have two kids in the Chinese school. They are thriving .. really happy and learning a lot. We love the staff and the teachers and the parents are great! They are learning essentially all of the elementary school subjects as well as Chinese (because all are taught in Chinese). So cool. It will ... More

Our older son has attended for the first two years. We really like it. We actually live in the county, but drive to the city because language immersion is very important to us. Our second son will start at the school as well this fall.
