  • Nurturing, caring staff and emphasis on infusing character education into lessons and activities.
  • "The mission of Stix Early Childhood Center is to assist each child to achieve at her/his highest level academically, socially, morally, and emotionally in a caring and safe environment."
  • Outdoor classroom, "The Incredible Garden", provides students with opportunities to experience natural elements in their world in addition to planting, harvesting, and enjoying a variety of foods.
  • Gifted Education: Gifted pull-out two days a week (total of 150 minutes/week). In addition, Stix has self-contained gifted classrooms at each grade level, K - 2. Students enrolled in the 2nd grade gifted classroom will automatically be enrolled at Kennard CJA for third grade. Description and testing process details: http://www.slps.org/domain/5244
  • Special Education: Offers a PK Inclusion classroom, self-contained classrooms and resource pull-out program
  • Parent Involvement: Attend field trips, help in classrooms, coordinate annual fundraiser, organize and plan Halloween event, Family Fun Fair, and other family events

    Stix is a remarkable place with caring teachers and supportive staff. It is a big school but there are lots of opportunities that come with its size. Basketball, after school science club, math and reading nights, to name a few.
