  • Washington Montessori is a child-centered, alternative educational center based on the child development theories originated by Italian educator Maria Montessori.
  • "This year, we partnered with the St. Louis Chess Club to create our very own Chess Club, and everyone from pre-school through 5th grade is welcome to join and learn this amazing game!"
  • "In 2017-18, Washington Montessori won a Healthy Schools grant, which means that we serve healthy school lunches in our cafe and healthy afternoon snacks of fresh fruit in the classrooms. We have two AIM zones - areas of the school where students can reflect on their feelings while exercising, stretching, or taking a mental boost break. We infuse all classrooms with as much movement as possible through GoNoodle, an online resource parents can also access at home."
  • "Washington Montessori is a part of HomeWorks, a program that connects families and teachers so that the student stays at the center of our educational program at all times."
  • "As a PBIS school, we believe in positively reinforcing high expectations for all students. We celebrate students each month with PBIS events such as school dances, movie and popcorn afternoons, and field trips!"

  • Gifted Education: "Our Gifted Education Specialist works with students of all grade levels that have been identified as gifted. Once children test into the gifted program, they receive gifted services with Ms. Jana Flynn."
  • Special Education: "Our Special Education Resource teacher is Ms. Primus, a gifted teacher who understands how to blend the district curriculum, the Montessori method, and her special education services in order to best meet the needs of her students. "
